On July 1, 2022, Roseanne Casey, from Kilmallock, Limerick and Malcolm Galbraith, from Dunboryne, Co. Meath, became man and wife at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Limerick and celebrated late into the next morning at Hotel Woodstock in Ennis, Co. Clare.

The Backstory

Roseanne, a hairdresser with Peter Mark, met Malcolm, a regional sales manager with BAT Ireland, in 2015 while they both worked in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick. After hitting it off pretty immediately, they dated for the next four years until Malcolm proposed in June 2019.

“We went on a day trip to Connemara. Earlier in the day I had started a conversation about proposals on the way up, blissfully unaware of what was coming. We went to the base of one of the mountains; Malcolm knew the spot from hiking before. We laughed after because I had always told him if he was going to propose, to make sure I had my nails done. He did well enough to listen, however just as I was climbing the stile to go up the hill walk, I chipped the nail off my ring finger. Lucky enough it didn’t faze him. We set up a camera to take a picture of us with the mountain in the back and now we have a lovely video of me getting the surprise of my life,” remembers Roseanne fondly.

The Wedding

Together with a best man, three groomsmen, a man of honour, a maid of honour and two bridesmaids, Roseanne and Malcolm, celebrated their wedding at Hotel Woodstock with 180 of their closest family and friends and had a spectacular day. Roseanne recalls sitting at the top table with her new husband and looking out at all their guests enjoying their braised beef or chicken supreme and being so grateful that everyone was there to celebrate them as a couple. “It was also great having people we loved come from so far. We had guests fly in from Canada, America, Germany, the UK, Dubai, and Australia,” shared the couple. Malcolm admits his favourite memory is that of Roseanne walking up the aisle to “This I Promise You” by Donna Taggart.

Roseanne stunned in an ivory off the shoulder A-line embellishment dress with a cathedral veil to complement the ensemble. Both were from Virgina’s Bridal in Limerick. “I could not recommend Virginia herself enough. I loved my dress.” Malcolm and the boys donned suits from Esquire Formal Menswear, also based in Limerick.

Instead of wedding favours, they donated to Diabetes Ireland. One of their favourite pictures taken by Rose of Baker Photography, is that of them standing on the hotel's beautiful landing with an impressive chandelier in the background.  Guests were also treated to a premium whiskey tasting experience at their reception “this went down really well with everyone,” said Roseanne. Wedding band Escapade started off the party by playing their first dance “Beautiful in White” by Shane Filan and the floor was full for the evening.

How was your experience at Hotel Woodstock?

“Elaine and Sean were amazing. Elaine went out of her way in the morning to make sure there was no stress for the bridal party and making the bride glow before she left. They meet every guest, as well as the couple, coming through the doors; a really special touch that makes everyone feel welcomed. Our guests are still feeding back how great the venue was and how much they enjoyed the food and Guinness. Elaine and Sean really will put the emphasis on you and your guests.”

How was your experience with Baker Photography?

“What can we say about Rose from Baker Photography. Her work is so amazing we had to make her business partner our best man just so he would not get offended on the day. It was good to give him a little job to keep him busy too. Her approach is so friendly towards all the guests, she was having fun with everyone and snapping all the best memories of the day in such a unique style. There is such elegance to the pictures they take at Baker photography. We had seen their work so many times over the years, but it is so exciting to be involved and have them bring their sophistication to our pictures.”
