Cork natives Sinead Mc Carthy and Denis Murphy tied the knot at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Killarney, Co. Kerry on November 17, 2022. They were joined by 130 of their nearest and dearest at Ballyseede Castle Hotel in Tralee for their wedding reception.

The Meet

Let’s skip back to 2002. Denis and Sinead were both studying hotel management in Cork Institute of Technology (CIT). They were great friends during their years in CIT and remained in touch. Denis got to hear all about Sinead’s various
roles in hotels across Ireland and Sinead learned that Denis spent many years working on cruise ships. But their paths were meant to cross again. Fast forward to 2018 and both Sinead, now the General Manager of the Brehon Hotel and Denis, the proprietor of Murphy Brownes Restaurant, found themselves back in Killarney and back in contact. But this time they saw each other as more than just friends and began dating. And after four glorious years they took their relationship to the next level.

The Engagement

Sinead’s isn’t easily surprised but Denis managed to pull this one off. He even hid the ring under his girlfriend’s car seat the entire journey up to Druids Glen Hotel in Wicklow. So, on September 28, 2021 Denis asked Sinead to be his lifelong partner in crime and she said “yes.

The Wedding

Last November Denis and Sinead were married, and they had the best day of their lives. Sinead shares some of her favourtie memories. “Everything was amazing. Denis surprised me with a poem during his speech about how they met and their journey to date, everyone loved it and still speaks about it months on.” Sinead and Denis’ first dance was “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis. They had a choice of fillet of beef or seabass as their main course, and they gave

everyone chocolates with their initials on them as wedding favours. Despite it being November, they got spectacular weather and got some stunning images, even with a rainbow in the background.
