The Meet

In 2012, Helen Kinnane, from Meanus, Limerick went to a Halloween party in Dolan’s Bar. Helen, dressed as a bee, was offered chocolate from a red M & M, (enter Martin Turner from Newport, Co. Tipperary) and she politely accepted his sweet gesture. Their romance bloomed into a wonderful life together that has since been enriched by the arrival of two children and years filled with love.

The Proposal

Martin took Helen to Druids Glen for a stroll in the fairy garden. As they were exploring Helen came to a tree where there was a letter with her name on it. Martin had previously put it there, and when she saw “Will you marry me?”, he was already down on one knee, holding a gorgeous ring.

After a lot of shuffling and panic over the pandemic, a final date was set for June 7, 2021. Helan and Martin decided to keep it intimate and precious by having 25 of their closest people attend their special day. For the ceremony venue, they chose the church of St.Mary in Meanus, Co. Limerick and their reception was hosted in Kilshane House in Bansha, Co. Tipperary.

Planning

Helen purchased her timelessly elegant dress in Elena Doru’s design studio in Monaleen, Limerick, and all alterations were completed on site. To complete the bridal styling, she wore New Look shoes. Goldie Locks from Newport took care of her hair, with the help of Lesley Ryan & Beauty by Leanne who were in charge of her elegant make-up. Their guest’s invites were created by Limelight Wedding Stationery.

Wedding

Fr. John Daly conducted the intimate wedding ceremony. According to all present, the most charming part was the fact that their daughter and son were the flower girl and page boy.

The Simon Casey band took care of the church and reception music and Helen and Martin’s first dance was  “After Glow” by Ed Shereen.

Celebrations continued with their nearest and dearest at Kilshane House. Later into the evening they cut their cake, created with love by Kennedy O’Brien Cakes.

All the stunning wedding photos were courtesy of their photographer Tony Clancy, while Colin Kinnane made sure to film it all.

Helen found Tony Clancy and Orla Kennedy O’Brien in Brides of Limerick while she was on her planning journey.

“The only way to describe Tony is the Ninja Photographer, you don’t know he is even there but gets heaps of photos. He is a lovely man and we can't say enough good things about him.”- tonyclancyphotography.ie

Helen’s one take away from her big day:  Don't stress, everything falls into place, all that matters is the two of you, just make sure you take time to enjoy it all.
