On Friday, July 14, 2023, two Limerick natives, Lisa McNamara and Mark Kelly tied the knot in a civil ceremony at the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick among 110 close family and friends.

The Meet

On a wild night out in Nancy Blakes, celebrating Saint Patricks Day in 2013, Lisa and Mark were introduced to one another by Mark’s best friend, and they immediately hit it off. Since then, the couple have bought a house and have loved every second of living together for the last six years. It’s safe to say that their mutual love of soccer and weekend trips away, has made life living together even more blissful.

The Engagement

While on a quick getaway to Belfast in October 2021, Lisa and Mark decided to take a trip to the Giants Causeway. After a long drive the pair landed in their destination to take in the views. Little did Lisa know, Mark was planning to pop the question and upon their arrival he dropped to one knee, shocking Lisa. He had proposed with a beautiful promise ring from Tadhg Kearneys Jewellers, Co. Limerick, while also having an appointment pre booked with the same jewellers for the end of the week, enabling Lisa to pick her own beautiful engagement and ensuring it was the perfect fit.

The Wedding

In all the excitement, Lisa and Mark did not hesitate in beginning to plan their wedding and had almost everything booked within four weeks. They decided that 2023 would be their year as they would also be celebrating their 10-year anniversary. Therefore, they decided on the Castletroy Park Hotel where an intimate and personal civil ceremony took place. Lisa, who stunned in her wedding gown, took to the aisle as “Beautiful in White” by Westlife was performed by Jason Fahy. Lisa was greeted by her soon to be husband and wedding celebrant Mary O’Donovan, who is credited for describing the couple to a tee and ensured both the newlyweds and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony. After the nuptials, the couple went out with their photographer, Paul Mullins, for some fantastic pictures, including one of their favourites of them sitting across from each other in the Hurler’s pub in Castletroy, pint in hand cheering to the celebrations at hand.

The newly married couple and their guests thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful reception as they danced their first dance to the song “Heaven” by Bryan Adams, citing that the music performed by Traffic Wedding Band was simply “outstanding”.

One piece of advice the couple deemed as most important is to “keep calm and don’t stress. Everyone is there to support you and the day will be amazing.”

Lisa and Mark attended one of the Munster Wedding Extravaganza shows and booked most of their suppliers from the show.

How was your experience with the Castletroy Park Hotel?

“The minute we emailed and met with Nicola Fagan in the Castletroy Park Hotel we knew it was the hotel for us. The food on the day and the service was just out of this world and the décor was just so beautiful you could see all the effort that the team had invested in the day.”

How was your experience with Paul Mullins Photography?

“We booked Paul Mullins as we had seen previous work he had done and we had met him at one of the Munster Wedding Extravaganzas. Paul was amazing to deal with and the ideas for the wedding day on going to the Hurlers was a great idea.”
