After a false start due to Covid, Tipperary lady Trisha Spillane and Limerick man Brendan Childs finally got married on November 21, 2021 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Aherlow, Tipperary and held their wedding celebrations at the Springfort Hall Hotel in Mallow, Co. Cork.

The Meet

Trisha, from Cordangan, Tipperary and Brendan, from Galbally, Limerick always knew there was a connection every time they met on nights out in Tipperary Town during the months of 2006. Finally, knowing a good thing when she found it, Trisha plucked up the courage and asked one of Brendan’s mates for his number. She braved a text asking was he going out on Friday and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Engagement

After 13 years of dating Brendan finally decided to propose on December 22, 2019, except there was one issue! Trisha had fallen asleep on the couch. At this stage he knew he had no choice as he had an appointment booked to choose a ring together the next morning at 11.30am so he woke her!

“Brendan had to wake me which is like poking the bear… he was down on one knee in front of me which I didn’t even realise at first because I was cross he woke me up. I will say that I did get some surprise when he asked me to marry him and I felt terrible for being so cross with him.”

Wedding Details

The couple, who now live in Brendan’s hometown, had 207 wedding guests join them in their celebrations. They had three bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen. After already having to postpone their big day once, Trisha and Brendan were determined to really celebrate their day with all their family and friends. “It was brilliant to see everyone enjoying themselves,” they shared.

Trisha walked up the aisle to “I knew I loved you before I met you” by Savage Garden and their first dance as man and wife was “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

The Little Things

Each guest was gifted a lottery ticket in an envelope saying “we hope you get lucky tonight” as a wedding favour. Their photos were taken in Doneraile Park and they felt the autumnal colours really added to the beauty of their forever pictures.

Advice

“The day goes so fast, try and take a moment to take it all in. Just enjoy every second of it and don’t worry about anything going wrong.”

How was your experience with Baker Photography

“Kenneth was just brilliant all day and kept us all relaxed. He is such a gent and if there are any couples looking for a photographer he is who you want. He knows how to get people to relax in front of the camera and make the pictures look natural. We had told Kenneth that we did not want to be posing for photos all day and he worked with what we wanted. He also managed to get the action photos on the dance floor. He really did not stop all day and you can see that in the amount of photos he took on the day.”
